Hey Jeanette!! We are looking forward to meeting you and being a part of the activities in Nevada! We are looking forward to working with the children there as well. We are praying for you as well. Please let us know what we can do to serve you.
Hi Joel & Charlotte! I have lots of questions & ideas. I will jot them down here, but you may prefer to call me with answers instead of trying to type it all. Whatever you prefer! 417-549-0487
1. Do you guys have any food allergies or aversions?
2. Do you like to swim?
3. For Friday evening children’s event, I thought about rotating the kids thru stations, sort of like we do VBS. You guys (and volunteers) could split up and lead each station, doing the same thing about 3 – 4 times each. For example :
(a) Teach a Bible song in Portuguese (b) Learn a Bible verse in Portuguese (c) Cook up a Brazilian snack of some sort (d) Learn a game that maybe Brazilian kids play (e) See a photo presentation of Brazil (f) Hear a few of the younger kids tell about what it’s like living as an MK in Brazil. (g) Make a Brazilian craft.
Not all of the above, but maybe just 5 of your favorites. I will gather supplies & groceries. Let me know if you have ideas and how much you’d like to be involved in the planning & preparation. We will be feeding everyone right at 6pm. Then begin stations around 6:30. Not sure how many kids to expect, 10 or 100. This is our first activity like this.
We should also discuss Sunday morning. We have three hours of programming. The kids will sing in the 1st & 3rd services at the beginning, then head back to the Kid’s wing for regular activites. Sunday School is held the first 2 hours, then Children’s Church for the third hour. Would you guys like to present a 10 minute spill during Children’s Church, and be a special guest in various Sunday School classes during the other 2 hours? I know, I know… now you know why they call it a brainstorm!! ; ) Jeanette
