We had a wonderful trip to the Atlantic Ocean beach last weekend.  We came home with no sunburns.  We actually were thankful for a rainy weekend.  The challenge was having a baby in the rain.  The first day we (Charlotte and Abigail) sat in a resturant on the beach while everyone swam.  Then when we went to the beach that night.  It was clear so Abigail and I sat on the sand and watched everyone play.  When we went back to the beach on the last day of our weekend trip we thought that the rain may pass us by, but it didn’t.  About 20 minutes after we arrived it began to rain. Abigail and I were  under our sun umbrellas (or rain umbrella).  Since this was Sarah’s birthday we gave her the choice of continuing to swim at the beach or returning to the house and swim in the pool that was there.  Sarah wanted to swim at the beach so we stayed there for about an hour  more.  And then we returned to the house and the children swam in the pool for about an hour to an hour and a half more.

We enjoyed the trip and the fact that no one got sunburned.  Salinas (officially Salinópolis) was a neat little town.  We would like to go again.  We have our sun umbrellas to protect us from the sun or rain whichever one we encounter.

We enjoyed spending time with the girls this week while they were out of school. Next week we will have to return to the routine of school.  This will start the 4th quarter of their year.  They have 1/4 to go. They will finish school the first week in June.
